Legal Review on the Implementation of Post-Rehabilitation for Narcotic Abuse

Abstract

The problem of narcotics in Indonesia is certainly not a new thing. The latest data from the UNODC report in 2023, the number of drug abusers in the world is around 296 million people, while in Indonesia itself, the prevalence of drug abusers in 2023 reached 3.3 million people or 1.73% of the population of Indonesia. Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics has provided a solution for addicts and drug abusers, namely rehabilitation. Not only rehabilitation, the BNN has also made it mandatory to continue ongoing rehabilitation or what is called post-rehabilitation. However, this also raises another problem called the relapse period. Therefore, BNN officers and clients during rehabilitation or post-rehabilitation can work together well.
